Small town Apple Store opening scheduled for Saturday

Store may alleviate traffic at other locations
The new Apple Store in Manhasset, New York is scheduled to have its grand opening this Saturday October 17th at 10 o'clock. Although the town only has a population of 8,300, the location seems ideal considering the area has an average household income of $125,240 per year --among the 10 highest incomes for any existing Apple Store Location, according to ifoAppleStore. The opening should also help to alleviate the heavy traffic in the three Apple Stores located on Long Island, the report said.
The store will be opening at the Americana Manhasset, an outdoor mall with a variety of street-level luxury retail stores as neighbors including Prada, Giorgio Armani, Louise Vuitton, and Ralph Lauren.
Apple demolished the former bank branch at the location at build a new all-steel, 4,000 square-foot store.

and after they sell all 8300 people a computer, then what? Free c*** for everyone?
that's really stupid on Apple's part to open a store in such a small town. I'm sure there a lot of small towns outside of a lot of large cities that have as high or higher average household income, why not start building stores in those towns too. There maybe even a town of ten people with an AHI of $200K and higher, why not build a store there too?

If you looked up Manhasset, NY in Google Maps, you'd see that Long Island is one vast suburbia with very little undeveloped wilderness. Manhasset is probably the epicentre of one of the richest (if not THE richest) counties in US. The third sentence of the article said that the store should relieve other three stores in the area that are currently getting too much traffic.
It would be surprise if this store didn't make it to top ten money makers (by square foot) within first six months. And stayed in the top ten for the foreseeable future.

The problem here is that the title of the article is all wrong. Manhasset LI is in itself a slightly small town located in Nassau county NY which is far from tiny. This is store is in a perfect affluent location and will quickly be packed everyday. I just passed it on Sunday and it seems close to completion. Being surrounded by other high end stores will unlikely hurt Apples image...dont ya agree?
The author of this article should rethink the title
