Eee Keyboard specs revealed at FCC tests

ASUS' Eee Keyboard is nearing production status, as it has been spotted in an FCC filing recently. The Eee PC is a fully functional PC into the form factor of a large wireless keyboard and integrates a 5-inch, 800x480 resolution touchscreen. The PC has already been slated for an October release date as of this summer.

The FCC filing reveals the full specs of the Eee Keyboard EK1542. It will be powered by a 1.6GHz Intel Atom CPU and Broadcom's AV-VD905 video processor, along with 1GB of RAM. Capacities will be either 16GB or 32GB, with Windows XP being the sole operating system option. Users will be able to connect to large external displays thanks to the HDMI or VGA outputs and/or thanks to the external wireless Ultra-Wideband (UWB) antenna. The UWB setup has a 16.4 foot range for sending 720p videos, or twice that when less intensive data is being sent. The UWB receiver connects to a TV or other device via two USB ports, a mini-USB port, audio output and an HDMI connection.

There is otherwise built-in WiFi, gigabit Ethernet and Bluetooth. Battery life is rated at four hours.

Pricing and a definite release date remain unknown. [via Engadget]
