Syncro Soft intros Oxygen XML Editor, Author 11 updates

Editor adds new XQuery debugger

Syncro Soft has released updates to Oxygen XML Editor and XML Author, bringing the versions of both to 11. Editor provides tools for creating basic XML code, as well as handling XML Schema languages and multiple forms of debugging. Author meanwhile contains only the relevant authoring features of XML Editor, and is now available as a standalone app as opposed to simply part of the Oxygen software.

The latest update to Editor brings a new XQuery debugger, MathML rendering and editing support, and enhanced Author support for improved visual editing.

Elsewhere the suite should better handle documents in the 200MB range, or as high as 10GB in the large files viewer. Other features include documentation for XSLT style sheets, and integration with the EMC Documentum Content Management System. With added XProc support users can edit, validate or execute through reusable XProc scenarios, and edit XProc scripts in Author mode instead of just source mode.

The update lastly provides v1.5 of DITA OT -- which supports the DITA 1.2 specification -- as well new SVN features, and upgrades to a variety of processors and frameworks. Oxygen XML Editor 11 is available in academic, professional or enterprise licenses, at prices ranging from $65 to $450. XML Author comes in just professional or enterprise licenses costing $200 and $270.
