Snow Leopard 10.6.2 update adds WWAN support

Apple has reportedly provided a second beta release of its Mac OS X 10.6.2 update (labeled 10C514f) to developers, which incorporates a series of bug fixes and improved support. The update is said to deal with almost 150 different areas including applications such as Address Book, QuickTime Player, and Photo Booth, as well as problems related to app switching within the Dock. Additionally, the update is believed to deal with issues involving Front Row, Spaces and Time Machine apps as well.

Other features include added WWAN support for 3G modems, along with NTFS and WebDAV file system support, and enhancements for both MobileMe and iDisk. Performance and stability improvements are supposedly provided when dealing with graphics drivers and the OpenCL compiler, along with bug fixes for problems in the Parental Controls Preview, printing, and the update mechanism.

Mail... preferences problem

Mail has had this problems since the 10.4.x days...

Select Preferences
Select Rules
create a new Rule
enter 25 plus conditions

The conditions window will extend off the bottom of the screen so the control button are no longer visible.

Click the window size control button in the upper left corner of the conditions window, the rules window one level below will be resized. While the conditions window remains unaffected and still too long to be completely visible.

Fortunately the conditions window buttons "cancel" or "OK" are still keyboard active. Hitting the return key will active OK and return the conditions window to its rules window static state.

Try this.. report your results to Apple. I have reported this problem 10's time. I have had Apple phone techs confirm this action on their computers on 2 separate occasions both times the Apple tech were surprised the problem existed and vowed to report the problem to the proper group.

The problem still exists... try these steps and report to Apple

I hope to heck they fix the problem with Disk Utility.
I work with a large school system and since upgrading to 10.6 I have been unable to re-image any Macs using Disk Utility, only partition and repair them.
I have spent a couple of hours on the phone with Apple with no luck. Both of us are baffled.
Thank God for CCC. It works really well and quickly too.

They also need to fix their built in native Cisco VPN option to resolve name servers which is a big problem in corporate settings. Even though Apple doesn't want to serve the enterprise, its users are taking them into those environments which can be quite hostile to any changes made for a small subset of users.

Making it easy for those users will spur adoption in business.

Why did they bother to release the Operating System. That sounds like 25% of the Operating System. Granted, there is nothing wrong with perfecting things. But, that's a lot!
