Likewise has announced two new updates to its authentication software for Mac, Likewise Open 5.3 and Likewise Enterprise 5.3. The latest versions add support for 32-bit and 64-bit versions of Apple’s Snow Leopard operating system. Likewise Open is designed to connect Linux and Mac machines to a Microsoft Active Directory and authenticate users with their domain credentials.

The Enterprise version builds off the open source app and provides tools for mangers to authenticate users, control access to applications or information, create reports and manage settings with group policies.

New users can download Likewise Open 5.3 from the company’s website for free, with Likewise Enterprise priced at $60 per single-user license or $300 for each server license
