updated 06:00 pm EDT, Tue October 6, 2009

Simulates damage, jitter

Digieffects has released Aged Film, a new video effects plug-in for post-production suites that recreates the style of damaged filmstock. Customizable effects include dust, grain, scratches, frame jitter and color. Presets cover a variety of scenarios, including 8mm film, old home videos and shaky projectors. All effects are rendered at 16bpc.

Aged Film can be used with Combustion, Final Cut Pro, Premiere Pro, Boris RED and Grass Valley Edius; animation is supported within After Effects. Users can deinterlace and control both source blend and random seed.

The plug-in is compatible with Mac OS X 10.4 or higher and is currently priced at $30. The code can also be purchased for $110 in a bundle pack with Magic Bullet Quick Looks, or for $400 with Magic Bullet Looks.
