Update adds new iPhone app control page options

Perceptive Automation has released v4.1 of its home control server, Indigo. The latest version adds support for SmartLabs' PowerLinc Modem and Insteon extended messages which can be used to control Insteon products and enhance the speed and reliability of device linking to the software. The update also features an improved automatic reconnection tool for serial devices and improved Insteon link syncing for PowerLinc interfaces. Version 4.1 includes new control page options for the companies iPhone application, Indigo Touch, and support for new Insteon hardware modules.

The software is used to control various electronics in a users home, such as lights, appliances, thermostats and lawn sprinklers. Users can program their connected electronics to turn on and off at specific times, helping to reduce their home's energy consumption. The app includes support for iTunes control, the Growl notification system and weather data from NOAA.

Indigo 4.1 requires Mac OS X 10.4.11 and a supported Insteon or X10 computer interface in order to control lighting and appliance modules. The software is available in both a lite version and a pro version for $90 and $180, respectively. The upgrade is free to all Indigo 4.0 users.
