Originally announced in September

Native Instruments has begun selling updated versions of several core music programs. The first is Absynth 5, a software synthesizer which has been improved with better audio quality, as well as new synthesis and effects features. Amongst the latter is the Mutator tool, which creates variations of a preset based on related ones.

Guitar Rig 4 Pro simulates a variety of amp, mic and cabinet styles, also providing mixing and effects support. Central to the upgrade is a new Control Room module, which lets users select up to eight microphones to assign to a cabinet. Kontakt 4 updates the company's sampling software with a new database system, as well as Authentic Expression Technology and a new compression format.

Native Instruments has lastly released a new Komplete 6 suite. The collection bundles together Absynth, Kontakt and Guitar Rig, also incorporating Massive, Reaktor 5, Battery 3 and FM8. It costs $559 new; when sold separately, Absynth 5 and Guitar Rig 4 Pro are $199 each, while Kontakt 4 is $149. Discounted upgrade options are available.
