Documents To Go iPhone app adds Excel editing, creation

updated 11:00 pm EDT, Thu October 1, 2009

App now enables editing of DOC and XLS files

DataViz has launched the latest version of its Documents To Go app for the iPhone and iPod touch. Following through with the company's earlier promises, v2.0 adds full support for creating and editing Excel documents. The previous release limited users to just viewing the spreadsheet content.

The app supports multiple spreadsheets, including files created with Excel 2007 and 2008. Users can resize rows and columns, search for specific cells using the Find function, or configure the format and typeface. The basic Word functions remain the same as the previous release, although typing is said to be faster with the update.

Documents To Go is available from the App Store for $10. Customers can also purchase a special version with Exchange support for $15. [via CNET.
