Studio edition adds build automation
REAL has launched a new update, Release 4, for REALbasic and REALbasic Studio 2009. The software development suites are cross-platform, and object-oriented. Supported elements include the likes of RTI, vector graphics, QuickTime and XML.
Release 4 includes almost 100 improvements, and some 40 new features. Headlining is a new report editor, which lets developers create a layout for printing by dragging and dropping labels, fields and images. It allows printing from any source, including text, arrays and databases. The Studio edition has been given build automation, simplifying common functions in applications without IDE scripts.
REALbasic Personal Edition is $100, while the Professional Edition is $300 and the special Studio Edition is $1,000. Mac requirements include Mac OS X 10.3, a 1GHz processor and 1GB of RAM.
