Three new BenQ projectors have dual HDMI inputs

BenQ has recently said it will soon begin shipping three new HD projectors for us in home theater installations. The three projectors are pitched to tech-savvy home theater enthusiasts, and the front-projection W600, W1000 and W6000 all work on Texas Instruments-based DLP front projection chips. The W6000 is the most feature-packed of the three, with 1080p, native 24fps support, a 50,000:1 contrast ratio and 2,500 ANSI lumens of brightness.

It can also upconvert 480p signals to near HD quality, and has 10-bit processing. There is a 1.5:1 zoom ratio and the ability for both horizontal and vertical lens shift. A 2.35:1 aspect ratio can be displayed thanks to an optional Panamorph lens. Dual HDMI inputs are built-in.

The W1000 can also reproduce images at 1080p resolution and has a 2,700:1 contrast ratio along with 1,800 ANSI lumens of brightness. Like the W6000, there are dual HDMI inputs, along with the standard fare of analog inputs.

The W600 is meant for more mainstream use, and can only reproduce 720p HD video. Despite this, it shares many key features with the W1000, including its 6-segment color wheel and dual HDMI inputs. It is rated at 2,000 ANSI lumens of brightness and has a 3,000:1 contrast ratio.

The W6000 should be out within a few weeks, priced at the equivalent of about $3,970, while the W1000 and W600 are due on November 1st, priced at $1,590 and $794, respectively.
