Checkout 3 update improves overall performance

Werck BV has launched a major upgrade to its Mac-only point-of-sale software, Checkpoint 3. The app delivers tools for managing inventory stocks and can be used to handle a variety of cashier tasks including sales, receipts and invoices. The latest version offers a re-designed product manager, several function and performance improvements, and a new EnStore pay-as-you-go web store for Canada and the US. For simpler item management users can now add barcodes to products, which can be printed on either Avery or Dymo labels.

With the new changes the product manager provides enhanced search functions and enables editing and deleting of multiple products simultaneously, and additional support has been added for hosting multiple stores on one computer. The EnStore web store integrates with the app and provides tracking information for online orders or customers, and offers payment processing through major payment providers. It is currently in the beta stage and offers unlimited bandwidth and storage.

Other features include a new interface for setting up product variations such as sizes and colors, support for connecting up-to 20 workstations per-store, and enhanced reports and ledger performance. Checkout 3 is also capable of accepting down payments and deposits on orders, and includes multi-region sales tax support. Improvements were made to the programs performance, such as more support for barcode scanners and magnetic swipe readers, along with overall performance enhancements.

Checkout 3 is compatible with Mac OS X 10.4.10 or higher, and can be purchased directly from the company’s online store for $400.
