IntelliScanner Classic barcode scanner
IntelliScanner has announced a new barcode scanner, the IntelliScanner Classic, for organizing books, movies or media. It features AutoFill technology that automatically identifies scanned characters and then fills the correct information directly into the web-based database. When scanning an item, the user receives detailed information such as cover art and release dates, while content can be organized by favorites.
The database also provides features for setting due dates or lending items, as well as printing detailed insurance reports. Users can create virtual bookmarks for simpler navigation, or search by title, genre or custom fields. Backups of collections can be kept online for storing or sharing. The content can be accessed a browser or IntelliScanner iPhone app. The software also makes it possible to compare prices, with a media shopping function that retrieves prices for scanned items.
IntelliScanner Classic is compatible with Mac OS X 10.4 or higher and currently priced at $100. A discount is also available for both teachers and students, bringing the price down to $80.
