Number of apps per ad climbing
Apple has begun airing three new iPhone TV ads, once again highlighting apps available at the App Store. The first, Dine, targets eating and travel, and references apps such as TripCase, Zagat to Go and Quickoffice. Nature despite its name is actually based around learning, and hence shows off titles such as DailyFinance, GuitarToolkit and iBird Explorer Plus.
The last ad, Pass, is themed around passing tests or time. As a result it includes apps like VocabWiz College Vocabulary, and the movie listings title Fandango. Notable in all of the ads is an increased number of apps per spot, up from three in recent times to six. Apple has placed a increased emphasis on the App Store in recent months, with CEO Steve Jobs going as far as to call it the main reason for the iPod touch.
