'Mole' claims Xbox 802.11n adapter will sell for $100

updated 10:55 pm EDT, Tue September 22, 2009

Device to add $20 over current 802.11g model

Microsoft has allegedly set a price of $100 to purchase the upcoming 802.11n adapter for the Xbox 360, an unnamed "Mole" told Ars Technica. The company recently acknowledged the device's existence, after it had been spotted in FCC documents. Dual antennae are expected to help the system stream 1080p content available through the Zune movie portal.

The source also claims the company is ready to release several hardware bundles. Customers will be able to get Xbox 360 Elite packages with Pure and Lego Batman beginning sometime in October. Microsoft recently announced other bundles that include Modern Warfare 2 and Halo 3: ODST.

A launch date for the 802.11n adapter has yet to be leaked. The current 802.11g model will reportedly see a price cut down to $80.

    nice find!

That's a nice and creative way to provide WiFi connection to Xbox 360 and PS3 consoles with no built-in WiFi. With this, they can be able to connect their gaming consoles to the internet using wireless connection through their wireless router. If this doesn't work for you though, and you're looking for a nice alternative, I've got just the thing for you. Check out this Xbox 360 Internet Connection Kit from Netgear, it acts the same way as the WiFi adapter giving wireless internet connectivity for your Xbox 360, and it also works for your PS2, PS3, and PC gaming. Check this link out: http://bit.ly/bByST7, for more information about this wonderful product from Netgear.
