Traktor Pro 1.2 adds effects, doubles sections

updated 01:25 pm EDT, Mon September 21, 2009

Update impacts multiple versions of Traktor

Native Instruments has released a v1.2 update for Traktor Pro, its professional-level DJ software. The program includes four decks, external controller support, and modules covering functions like track browsing and tempo sync. New in the update is the doubling of effects sections from two to four, allowing the assignment of one section per deck.

Effect types have been expanded with Peak Filter, Formant Filter and Beat Slicer. Timestretching and cue-point handling have meanwhile been improved, along with each deck's memory footprint. The update lastly enables customizable HID controller assignments, and fully supports the Pioneer CDJ-400 and Denon HC-4500.

Changes affect all editions of Traktor Pro, and where possible have been propagated to Traktor Duo and LE. A standard copy of Traktor Pro costs $229 new, or $119 as an upgrade. Mac OS X 10.4, 1GB of RAM and a 1.66GHz Core Duo processor are required.
