Magic Bullet Mojo claims to simplify 'blockbuster' look

updated 11:15 am EDT, Mon September 21, 2009

Plug-in supports various editing suites

Reg Giant has released a new video effects plug-in, Magic Bullet Mojo. The software recreates the look used in many Hollywood blockbusters, warming the color temperature of skin, while simultaneously cooling it for shadows and backgrounds. A central slider adjusts both elements in unison.

Detailed adjustments can be made through the Shadow Tint control, and Bleach, which affects saturation. Three separate Skin controls are also present: Color changes skin tones, while Squeeze compresses their range, and Solo desaturates everything in a scene except for skin. The plug-in costs $99, and is compatible with Avid, Motion, After Effects, Final Cut Pro and Premiere Pro.

I would be great if iMovie allowed plugins again. This would be great to have for my student to use with iMovie.

Of course, for less than $100, I might have to get this for my FCP.
