New Android handset could be ready to go
T-Mobile has dropped the price of its G1 smartphone down to $130 with a two year agreement. Although the recent price cut is only $20 below the previous $150 promotion, it could be an indication that T-Mobile is clearing out inventory ahead of its Motorola Cliq launch.
A leaked roadmap recently pointed to an October time-frame for the Cliq's arrival on T-Mobile. The device might even ship with an updated OS, Android 1.6, which is believed to be ready around the same time.
Motorola's first Android device will feature a 480x360 touchscreen measuring 3.1-inches diagonally, along with a 5-megapixel camera, GPS, and Wi-Fi connectivity.
