TUNESHELL, ICEWEAR cases arrive

TUNEWEAR has launched a new collection of cases for the fifth generation iPod nano. The new Nano, released last week, has a camera, microphone and a larger-sized display, forcing the need for new case designs. TUNEWEAR has produced three, two of which have optional starter kits, and a revamped protective film.

The ICEWEAR case uses a ribbed texture for a better grip. It is made of high-density silicone, and has embossed edges around the screen to prevent scratches when placed face-down on a surface. Open access is provided for all ports and controls. It arrives with a resized TUNEFILM screen protector, a cleaning cloth, a neck lanyard and a donut-shaped cable winder.

The TUNESHELL is a thin, clear polycarbonate case that snaps together around a Nano for dirt and scratch protection. It offers full access to ports and controls, and ships with the same accessories as the ICEWEAR. It is also available in Japan only as the TUNESHELL Starter Kit for iPod nano 5G, which combines the case and its bundle with a two-port USB AC charger.

The COLORSHELL comes only in a starter kit, again available exclusively in Japan. It is a clear shell case with an aluminum face, the latter being available in silver, black, purple, green, yellow, orange or pink. It includes all the added material of the TUNESHELL kit.

An individual ICEWEAR case is $20, as is a TUNESHELL. TUNEFILM protectors cost $10 on their own.
