New strategy game follows the style of Risk
Phelios and Tycoon Games have released a new war game, ElimiNation. During the strategy game, players take control of an army commander whose goal is to eliminate enemy forces and become the ruler of the empire. The turn-based design follows the classic style of the board game Risk, with the addition of resource gathering and harvesting. Players are able to control a wide variety of soldiers or assault vehicles. After analyzing an enemy’s defenses and units, users can make strategic decisions on where to strike.
ElimiNation consists of two different game modes, Quick Battle and Campaign, along with a choice between controlling the Dark Brigade, Green Wings or Tech Empire. Each different faction features unique units and characteristics, as well as specific victory conditions for each map. Users can take part in three of five different campaign maps, depending on which faction they choose, while new units or powerful cards can be purchased during the deployment phase.
ElimiNation requires Mac OS X and can be purchased from either Phelios or Tycoon Games for $20. A free trial version is also available from both companies.
