'iPhone Activation Zones' to grace Apple Stores?

Could streamline store visits

Apple is planning to reorganize the layout of Apple Stores in order to better support the iPhone, anonymous sources claim. Possibly launching as soon as Tuesday, changes are said to revolve around the creation of "iPhone Activation Zones," where people can pick up and activate their purchases after having done pre-authorization online. There people may be met by "iPhone Experts," with distinct sets of badges and t-shirts.

The reorganization may be aimed at tackling multiple concerns. Among these is an influx of people lured in by the iPhone, for whom the device could be their first Apple product, requiring extra attention. Changes may also be aimed at alleviating in-store traffic overall, hurrying iPhone customers through the setup process. Past iPhone launches have sometimes required hours to process initial lineups.

Why?

Why not just take it home and activate it on your home computer, like you do when you buy it online...

Or just have the phone shipped to you and don't even waste the time standing around the apple store waiting to be helped.
