Gains new editing tools as well
The Pixelmator Team has updated its self-named image editing software, bringing it to version 1.5. The program is notable for supporting GPU acceleration. The lead addition in v1.5 is a set of web tools, including a Save for Web option, and a Web Color plug-in for the Apple Color Palette.
A new Slice tool allows images to be divided into pieces, savable under different settings; a Trim command meanwhile lets users crop faster, based on surrounding colored or transparent pixels. Also present are Snow Leopard compatibility, a Reveal All command and a Send To feature, the latter of which exports files to Mail or iPhoto. Added Info Labels display relevant data based on the tool in use.
Pixelmator 1.5 requires Mac OS X 10.5.7 or higher, and a Core Image-capable video card. It can be downloaded for $60.
