Marware launches 1mm hardcase for iPhone 3G, 3GS

MicroShell case for iPhone

Marware has released the MicroShell for iPhone, an "ultra-thin" hardcase for the iPhone 3G and 3GS. The half-shell design is 1mm thick, with a metallic sheen and a smooth rubberized finish. Six colors are available -- black, red, blue, pink, white and silver -- along with a clear version.

All ports and buttons remain accessible. The case comes bundled with a clear screen protector, as well as a cleaning cloth and a lifetime warranty. The MicroShell is now shipping for $30.

    Remains to be seen

The biggest issue I have with theses thin cases is they prevent the iPhone from fitting into an otherwise normal dock bay used for charging and/or playing media. Since the promo photos do not show it in a dock, it leads me to believe that despite the 1mm thin case, it's still too big to fit.

    Similar to Incipio

This case seems to be very similar to the ones offered by Incipio. The only visible difference is that the Incipio overs more of the top and the chrome bezel. At least with the Incipio case, iPhones won't fit in the dock with the case fitted on.
