Panasonic already teasing Lumix GF1 in ads

Panasonic GF1 Ad Teasers

Panasonic has inadvertently spoiled its launch plans for the Lumix GF1 through at least one ad. Appearing on UK sites, the tower spot is short on details but confirms its position as Panasonic's rough equivalent to the Olympus E-P1 with a point-and-shoot style body but a Micro Four Thirds lens system. It also supports notions that the GF1 will ship in multiple colors, such as the red found on the G1/GH1 as well as black, silver and white.

Although the ad comes slightly late for one rumor that had the GF1 unveiled today, it does suggest a release is imminent and may be timed for the IFA trade show in Berlin. Currently, the ad only leads to Panasonic's global Lumix page, which makes no reference to the new model.

Again like the E-P1, the GF1 will lack any kind of built-in flash or viewfinder and will instead depend on its hot shoe to fulfill one or both roles. It's also known to take similar lenses, capture video in 720p and carry a mystery port just above the LCD. At least a 20mm pancake lens and a 45mm macro lens should come with the release.

    optional evf

How do the words "optional evf" that is; optional electronic viewfinder translate into "mystery port" on Electronista when every proper website knows what's going on. Idiots!
