Guitar Rig 4, Komplete 6

Native Instruments has announced several updates to its line of virtual instruments and effects applications, Guitar Rig 4 Pro and Komplete 6. Guitar Rig 4 Pro is the latest version of the company's professional guitar studio which provides tools for tone-shaping and emulating amp sounds, with more than 250 ready-to-play guitar sounds. New features include a redesigned preset browser for simpler search functionality, two additional tube amp models, and a new Control Room module with for speaker emulation. The update also comes with new cabinet and microphone modeling functions.

The Control Room module allows users to mix and match a maximum of eight phase-aligned studio microphones per cabinet, and is designed as the basis for the advanced speaker emulation. A dedicated master-effects section now enables stage configuration to include global equalizers, overlapping delays and reverbs, along with true stereo processing.

Users can also expect to see additional controller assignment and host automation functions, enhanced sound quality for pitch-based effect modules, and support for the company's Rig Kontrol 3 pedal board.

Komplete 6 is the company's latest software bundle for professional musicians and producers. The update delivers the most recent Pro versions of Absynth 5, Guitar Rig 4 and Kontakt 4, which consist of over 7,000 individual preset sounds. Komplete 6 has removed Akoustic Piano, B4 II and Pro-53 from the software package, while adding Elektrik Piano to the Kontakt factory library.

Both Guitar Rig 4 Pro and Komplete 6 are scheduled to be released in October 2009, with Guitar RIG 4 Pro priced at $200 and Komplete 6 available for $560. Users upgrading to Komplete 6 from version 2, 3, 4, or 5 only have to pay $170. Native Instruments will also be offering a limited-time upgrade for customers who have any version of Kontakt or Reaktor, which will allow then to purchase Komplete 6 for $340 until December 31st. The company also plans to have other versions of Guitar Rig available in the future, such as Guitar Rig Kontrol and Guitar Rig Session.
