ASUS Eee PC roadmap

A roadmap leaked by an EeeUser forum member who claims he works in the "industry" reveals upcoming Eee PC notebook models from ASUS. Most notably, the roadmap shows a 12-inch Eee PC is due, which will be powered by NVIDIA's Ion platform. Dubbed 1201N, the PC is due in October, and should run on a 1.6GHz Atom CPU with 2GB of RAM. It will otherwise have a 250GB hard drive, Wi-Fi and Bluetooth while carrying a $499 price tag.

Otherwise, the existing Eee PC 1000HE model will reportedly be phased out, though exactly when is not known. The 1005HA-P model that touts a 10.5-hour battery life will get a larger 250GB hard drive preloaded with Windows 7 Starter when the OS goes on sale late in October. The European 1005HA-M with a 1.6GHz Atom will also get the new OS. Unlike other 1005Ha models, it will have a matte display.

A pair of new 1008HA models will include the 1008HA-P, with its 1.66GHz Atom CPU, 320GB hard drive, 2GB of RAM, Bluetooth and Wi-Fi, as well as the 1008HA-M, which will have the same specs other than a smaller 250GB hard drive and 1GB of RAM. They will be priced at $480 and $430 respectively and will replace the 11.6-inch 1101HA and 10.1-inch 1008HA in October and November.

As for tablet netbooks, the T91 carries on unchanged, but a T91MT model has been added which should have multi-touch capability and a 32GB solid state drive. When it launches is unknown, but it will cost $549. The T101P is due in 2010, with a dual-core Atom N450 on the Pine Trail platform and Windows 7. [via Netbooked]
