Printer drivers for Snow Leopard on Apple's website

Apple has released a new support document that outlines the printers and scanners that are supported by the latest release of Mac OS X, Snow Leopard. In addition to listing all of the supported devices the document also outlines how to install the supporting software. Updated drives for Brother, Canon, Epson, FujiXerox, Gestetner, Gutenprint, HP, Infotec, Lanier, Lexmark, NRG, Ricoh, Samsung, Savin and Xerox printers have also been made available.

A second support document, which lists software that is incompatible with the new OS, has also surfaced. The document also describes what is done with incompatible software during installation. Any application that is found and is known to be incompatible is moved to a folder named "Incompatible Software" located at the root level of the hard drive.

    Gutenprint 5.2.4

    I have an HP OfficeJet G85 and found that apple decided to omit those drivers from Snow Leopard. I went to Gutenprint Project pages and downloaded the latest Gutenprint for Mac (gutenprint-5.2.4.dmg) and it's working fine again (for printing only). Looks like Apple included only select drivers from 5.2.3. This is the same thing as the included drivers just one version newer and with the full driver install. http://sourceforge.net/projects/gimp-print/files/
