Sonicfire Pro 5.1 for FCP

SmartSound has announced that v5.1 of its Sonicfire Pro plug-in, for Final Cut Pro, should now properly support Final Cut Pro 7. The plug-in scrutinizes markers in Final Cut, and automatically judges the amount of music needed to fill in stretches of time. Users can then hunt through SmartSound tracks, and select pieces to insert according to duration and other criteria.

Tracks can be filtered by keyword, category, or general speed and intensity descriptions. A more elaborate search tool, Tap Tempo, hunts for tracks based on tempos created by clicking a mouse. A basic bundle of the plug-in with Sonicfire Pro 5 Scoring Edition costs $250; users who already have Sonicfire Pro 4 or 5 can get the plug-in for $50.
