Facebook 3.0 released
Facebook has released v3.0 of the iPhone version of its social networking website. The application allows users to communicate with each other by sharing written information, pictures and videos online. The latest version supports the iPhones landscape mode and enables users to view upcoming events and RSVP. Users can additionally view friends' birthdays and Pages, as well as post updates, photographs and videos directly from the iPhone 3GS.
Photos and their respective albums can be managed using the app, allowing users to add and delete images, tags, titles, and albums. The update additionally enables users to change their profile picture and zoom into pictures. The application has been adjusted to access the users news feed preferences from the website and display the same feed on the iPhone.
Version 3.0 can open links in its a built-in web browser, display mutual friends, search for people and pages, make friend requests, become a fan of Pages and sort friends' profiles by first or last name. Although the release does not feature the anticipated Push notification service, a recent appadvice article suggests the service will be added in v3.1 of the app.

Lot's of problems with this update. Tried it on two iPhones. After the very long update, the phone hangs and acts really sluggish. I reset the phones to make sure there would be no problems using the App, but it only shows the Facebook label and a white screen then shuts down. I had to completely reset (FUD) the other iPhone, luckily it had been backed up recently.
WAIT TILL THIS APP GETS UPDATED AGAIN, if you don't want headaches. It's getting lots of good reviews but LOTS of people are having this problem. Just check out Facebook's fanpage on Facebook.
