Sanyo Xacti CG11 in Japan

Sanyo today brought out a new compact HD camcorder likely destined for the US. The Xacti CG11 records at 720p like many of Sanyo's newer cameras but has built-in recognition of Eye-Fi's cards, such as the Eye-Fi Video line. The hook lets users share video over Wi-Fi to YouTube and elsewhere without having to plug in. Versus the CG10, the new device also gets a mini HDMI port to preview content at full resolution through only an optional cable.

The CG11's sensor takes still JPEG photos at 10 megapixels and is braced by a 5X (40-200mm equivalent) optical zoom lens. Storage as is usual comes through SDHC cards and is helped by video capture in H.264 that makes the most of the available space.

In Japan, the camera is due to ship on September 11th for an estimated $317. Sanyo regularly brings the Xacti line to the US and, given past practices, should provide details of that launch soon. [via Impress]
