Aegis Padlock Secure Hard Drive utilizes keypad entry

Padlock Secure Drive ships

Apricorn has released its Aegis Padlock Secure Hard Drive, a portable storage system. The drive features a keypad that is used to input custom PIN numbers, protecting the device's content from being accessed by intruders. Users also have a choice between an AES-128 or 256 bit encryption to keep data safe. The device utilizes a USB 2.0 cable and is cross-platform compatible.

The drive utilizes an Administrator feature that recognizes up to ten user IDs and one administrator, giving a select number of people access to the information on the system. The product weighs about six ounces and features a 16-point omnidirectional shock mounting system to protect it from unexpected wear-and-tear.

The Aegis Padlock Secure Hard Drive can be purchased from the Apricorn online store in 250GB, 320GB, and 500GB storage capacities. The 128 bit AES models are available for $100, $110, and $140, respectively. The 256 bit AES models cost $120, $130, and $160, respectively.
