StarTech intros KVM Console to USB 2.0 Adapter

updated 11:00 pm EDT, Wed August 19, 2009

KVM Console Adapter ships

StarTech has introduced its KVM Console USB 2.0 Adapter, which essentially turns a users laptop into a portable KVM console. This allows service technicians to control a machine that does not have a keyboard, mouse or monitor. The device functions similarly to a crash cart (a technicians portable cart comprised of a keyboard, mouse and monitor), but does not require a power outlet.

The NOTECONS01 offers BIOS-level access from the users laptop to the connected computer. The device supports a resolution of up to 1920 x 1600 at 60Hz. The adapter works with any VGA computer, server, or other machine and does not require additional server software.

The KVM Console USB 2.0 Adapter is available from the StarTech online store for $470.
