Matte display MBP photos

Photo comparisons between the glossy and matte- 15-inch MacBook Pro displays have been posted in a MacRumors forum. The photographs detail the difference in glare between the two models. The new matte display notebooks replace the glossy glass screen and bezel with a metal bezel and a separate anti-glare panel. Inknoise, the user who posted the pictures suggests they "kind of miss the nice glossy look on rare occasions," but goes on to say there is a prominent value to the matte display when using it outside.

Apple announced the option for a matte display last week, allowing users to upgrade to the LCD screen for an additional $50. The matte display MacBook Pros are currently only sold through the Apple online store and adds between two and four business days to the computer's shipping delay when ordered.

    Not true. 2.8GHz is...

The 2.8GHz model is a regular stock item in most Apple stores.

    wow...

So not only does Apple fix the horrible glossy screen (which, seriously, you can use as a mirror if you are outside), they also fixed the horrible, ugly, and just plain bad black bezel around the screen.

Now, if only they got rid of the black keyboard buttons and went back to the all aluminum look of the original mbp, it would actually look nice again.

    Also apply a mask

The light leak around the keys is also a serious problem. They will have to apply a light mask below the keycaps.

    odd

It is odd that given their penchant for consistent design aesthetics, Apple chose not to colour or anodise the bezel black. The silver surround is almost like a punishment for having the temerity to ask for a non-reflective screen. This all depends on whether you prefer black over silver, of course ;-) !

    Anodize the entire thing

Anodize the entire thing already! The black iPods work really well, so why not this and sell it for $300 more, just like the MacBook plastic junk?

    This is no comparison

No two shots are taken from the same angle, or show the same thing. Worthless.
