mental ray 7.5 standalone

Autodesk has unveiled a new standalone version of its mental ray renderer. The application is used to create photorealistic or stylized 3D imagery by utilizing a ray-tracing engine. The software works independently of other Autodesk 3D programs using a command-line interface, while an enhanced shading language enables users to extend the Autodesk 3D shader library.

The new standalone app is supported on Windows, Mac OS X and Linux platforms, and operates as the rendering engine option within various Autodesk 2010 products. The Mac version of mental ray 7.5 is limited to Autodesk Maya 2010.

Autodesk has also announced that it will be releasing two software bundles titled Creation Suites 2010. The first package will consist of Autodesk Maya, MotionBuilder and Mudbox, while the second package will include Autodesk 3ds Max, Motionbuilder and Mudbox.
