LG survey hints "bloom" phone, Synergy netbook

LG Survey Leaks

A survey leaked out today has provided a probable clue as to LG's design direction for its phones and tight integration between these and future notebooks. The most unique spotted by Engadget would be the Dome, a spiritual successor to the enV3 that would have a unique curved shape that aids the keyboard. While the QWERTY pad would lay flat when the phone is closed, it would "bloom" outwards when the clamshell is open and space the keys far enough apart to be more comfortable during typing.

The phone would have the same 3-megapixel camera and 3-inch internal display as the enV3 but would have GPS. LG tentatively asks about a $149 price, likely at Verizon, though this would be high given the minimal upgrades and the enV3's initial $130 cost after a rebate.

A second phone, the Elva, would superficially resemble the Neon but would unusually put the QWERTY keyboard directly over the display. Somewhat similar to the Samsung UpStage's dual-sided feature, sliding the keyboard one way or another would trigger either a dedicated phone mode or a messaging mode. It would be pitched as a budget phone and accordingly carry a $50 price tag.

Completing the picture would be a netbook under the Synergy concept. While the computer itself would be a typical carrier-subsidized 10-inch netbook with Windows and 3G, it would tie directly into a compatible LG phone and send caller ID, messaging and some media to the computer without needing an outside app. If made real, the Synergy would ship for $149 when discounted by a provider.
