Sonos iPhone app udpated

Sonos has released an update to its iPhone app that works with the company's multi-room music systems. Version 3.0 adds a new "Info View" command that connects to a variety of extra content from sources such as, Pandora, Rhapsody, Napster and Sonos Radio. While listening to, users can view artist information, similar artists or upcoming concert dates.

The Info View for Pandora can be used to create new stations, view artist information or add bookmarks to an account. Rhapsody content includes artist details, album reviews, related projects, followers and similar artists. Users can add tracks and albums to Napster libraries, or save favorite stations and shows with Sonos Radio.

The Sonos app works as a Sonos Controller and can be used alongside the company's CR200 and CR100 devices. Users can control distribution of music through each zone in a home, along with individual volume levels. Different tracks can be played in each room, or each area can be synced to the same source. Users can access content from up to 16 PCs, Macs or NAS devices on their home network.

Sonos Controller 3.0 requires a ZonePlayer system and is available as a free download for the iPhone or iPod touch.
