Camtasia HD screencasts
TechSmith has announced Camtasia for Mac, a utility that allows users to create screencasts, presentations, demonstrations or marketing materials. The software is capable of producing HD content, with options to present the material online or configured for iPods and iPhones.
The software records what a user sees on their computer screen, along with verbal instructions and interactions with websites or other applications. The content can then be edited or expanded before publishing online at Screecast.com or burned to a CD or DVD.
Trial users of the Mac version receive 2GB of storage and 2GB of monthly bandwidth at Screecast.com. The service retains the original quality and size of the presentations. Users can also transfer the content to YouTube.
Camtasia for Mac requires OS X 10.5.6 or higher and carries an introductory price of $100. The standard price is set at $150 and the software will be available beginning August 25th.
