Media 100 Suite upgrade

Media 100 has released a new version of its self-titled Suite, used in video production. The update adds Matrox MX02 support, for portable, I/O, monitoring, and up/down/cross conversion. The suite also gains MultiClip editing, which enables real-time simultaneous editing of multiple video and audio sources. Cameras can be synced -- as source media becomes available -- using timecodes, sync marks or in-points.

The latest version additionally incorporates a VoiceOver tool that records audio directly to the timeline during playback. Sound can be formatted in stereo or mono, and recorded in separate channels simultaneously. Some other changes include timeline export to After Effects CS4, Final Cut Studio 3 support, enhanced Apple Color integration and support of QuickTime timecode tracks.

Media 100 Suite is being sold for $1,300. Users with any version since v10 can upgrade for $600. Platinum Software Updates are available for $900, and provide one year's worth of upgrades.

    re: still around?

And better yet, they're offering 2007 features in 2009, and charging more than Final Cut or Adobe!! Why?? And $900 for an upgrade? That's just silly.

I think they're on their last legs. It's really too bad, because competition is good for all of us, but they completely lost all vision and competence in the market. At least AVID makes a comeback once in a while (mostly on Windows though).
