OS X developer build
Apple has seeded Mac OS X 10.5.8 Build 9L30 to developers, following an earlier build released just a few days ago, according to MacRumors. The update is said to address an issue relating to external monitors waking from sleep mode. No other significant changes have been made, potentially indicating the company is ready to offer the final version to the public.
Mac OS X 10.5.8 is expected to be the final Leopard update before Apple launches version 10.6 in September. The Snow Leopard operating system will feature a variety of code optimizations, along with several tweaks and improvements to the interface.
Snow Leopard will carry a single-license upgrade price of $29, while a family pack will cost $49. Apple may continue to release Leopard updates to address compatibility issues or security vulnerabilities, even after OS X 10.6 ships.
