Kerio Firewall 6.7 ships
Kerio Technologies has launched WinRoute Firewall 6.7, updating the software with a new web filter, as well as a web-based administration interface. Kerio is an enterprise-level firewall suite, with an application layer firewall, antivirus protection and a P2P blocker. It also has bandwidth balancing controls, and a VPN server.
The web-based administration interface allows firewall configuration via Internet Explorer, Firefox or Safari. The new web filter is aimed at restricting access to websites that might affect efficiency, or else launch malware. Flexible policies can be used with different groups, and a report dashboard can be used to spy on access.
Other enhancements in v6.7 include Snow Leopard compatibility, and a configuration import/export wizard. The software requires Mac OS X 10.4 or higher, running on an Intel processor. Windows and Linux are supported as well.
The price is $329 for a 10-user package, with additional users costing $20 in five-user blocks. People can also buy a $395 version with integrated McAfee antivirus software; the cost of additional user blocks goes up to $24.
