GearRAID storage family
Raidon Technology has announced the latest in its line of RAID storage systems, the GearRAID multi-bay storage family. Consisting of three different storage devices the 2-bay GR3630, 4-bay GR5630 and GT5630, each RAID system is designed for SOHO and workstation use and is used to help back-up and store the user’s information. Both the GR3630 and GR5630 support USB 2.0, eSATA and FireWire 800 interfaces.
The GR3630 has a RAID 1 interface and is capable of storing over 2TB of data. It features a hot swappable tray module for simpler hard drive installation and supports two 3.5-inch SATA 3.0GHz hard drives. The device also provides mirroring back-up support which duplicates and saves data on the two different hard drives, and helps protect data from a crash caused by a possible hard drive failure.
The 4-bay GR5630 supports four 3.5-inch SATA 3.0GHz hard drives which can store anywhere from 4.5 to 6TB of data and includes high-level RAID 5 data protection. The added RAID 5 support allows for one hard drive to fail without resulting in data loss. With the GT5630 users receive a four-bay storage system with a JBOD interface and four-in-one multiplier. It can also be upgraded to a RAID subsystem via a port multiplier RAID card.
Additional support enables each storage device to notify users of over heat and fan failure. The storage systems can be found on the company’s online website with prices available through request from Raidon Technology.
