Docudesk has released deskUNPDF 3, an update to its PDF conversion utility. The software provides tools for converting PDFs into Word, Excel or HTML documents, among others. The latest version integrates an improved Accu-Text rendering engine, which is said to provide faster conversions with higher quality. Table conversion has also been enhanced for more accurate extraction of numerical data.
Users can now convert PDF content to CMYK, JPEG 2000 and JBIG formats, along with the existing BMP, PNG and TIF options. The software also includes new tools for removing headers and footers, along with cropping options for table or image extractions.
The normal File/Open process in Word or OpenOffice can be used to automatically import a PDF. Users can also drag and drop PDFs directly onto the desktop icon, or use batch conversion for large groups of files.
deskUNPDF requires Mac OS X 10.4 or higher and can be purchased directly from the company for $70.
