BlackBerry iTunes sync
RIM on Monday announced that its BlackBerry desktop software is coming to the Mac platform later this summer. The program will allow the company's smartphones to sync with iTunes content, calendars, contacts, notes and tasks. Users will also be able to update their smartphone's firmware directly from the Mac interface, or back up content with encryption.
Although BlackBerry owners already can sync their devices on Mac systems, the process requires third-party software such as PocketMac or The Missing Sync from Mark/Space. RIM's software will provide options to update software from its App World, while allowing management of multiple devices.
A preview version of BlackBerry Media Sync for Mac was released in December. The official version is expected to arrive sometime in September. Interested users can sign-up on RIM's website to receive notifications.

Most likely answer is iTunes. If they had used iSync, users would need to launch a separate piece of software in order to sync their music. Since you already HAVE to use another piece of software for music, then RIM may as well write syncing modules for everything else and forget about the iSync altogether.
This is exactly what Palm should have done for Pre, instead of leeching off of iTunes.

RIM should have done this long back. They just waited too long and gave Apple the reason and a big lead in the market.
BTW, I do not just sync with my local Address book but with my google contacts and mail too. :) with my iPhone.

Because some of us are forced to carry a BlackBerry at work. After 4 years it will be nice to be able to do the things all the other BB users do without having to sit down at a PC.
