Ottawa Apple Store opening
A new Apple Store in Ottawa, Canada will be having its grand opening this Saturday, July 18th at 9:30 a.m.. As indicated by construction photographs, the Rideau Center location has very similar elements to the company's other retail establishments, such as the Genius Bar and wall displays. Compared to other stores, the single-story outlet is larger than average. This should not come as much of a surprise, considering the store will be the first of its kind in Ottawa, the nation's capitol, and only the ninth so far in all of Canada.
The only other Apple Stores in Ontario have been built in the Toronto area, leaving Ottawa residents with a shorter drive to the Montréal locations. Filling of the void may come as a relief to many, as the only other dedicated Apple carriers in the city are re-sellers such as Carbon Computing and the Mac Group.
Those visiting the store at 50 Rideau Street on Saturday will be directed by a Concierge wearing an orange shirt. The first 1000 visitors will be given a free Apple t-shirt.

The only Apple store I've been able to visit is the Tyson's Corner one in Virginia (when I was there on business). It will be great to have one in the nation's capital and so close to home.
Family life is busy ... sure hope I can go on Saturday. Anyone else planning to go?
