Sony adds Netflix streaming to BRAVIA sets

Sony BRAVIA Gets Netflix

Sony today said its Internet-aware BRAVIA TVs now have access to Netflix. Both newer sets with support built-in, as well as older sets using the add-on Internet Video Link, can access (but not add to) the Watch Instantly queue and stream movies or TV shows directly to the set. Whether or not it's capable of HD footage isn't clear.

The update will be made available in the fall and will sit alongside competing services already live for Sony's TVs, including Amazon Video On Demand and Sony's own movies. Sets already have access to non-commercial video services like Crackle, DailyMotion and YouTube as well as radio from Slacker.

    PS3 support?

This is nice and all but where is the PS3 support to compete against the Xbox 360?

It is great to finally have Netflix streaming in Sony Bravia HDTVs. This gives us more ways to enjoy our internet-ready HDTV at home connected wirelessly via a wireless router. And speaking of wireless routers, if you're looking for a good one, I recommend you check out the Netgear Wireless Router for Video and Gaming. You can use this device to connect computers, gaming consoles, notebooks, or wireless printers, and also your networked home theater devices. You can also use this to stream video and music from a USB drive to media players and DLNA TV's, even without using a computer. Now that's one powerful wireless router for you. For more information about Netgear's Wireless Router for Video and Gaming, check out this site: Enjoy!
