Palm Pre syncs with Mac

Mark/Space has released a Mac version of The Missing Sync for Palm Pre, along with a Windows Vista and XP version currently in progress. Previously launched as a beta, the synchronization software allows mobile phone users to share information such as contacts, calendars, photos and music between the Mac and Palm Pre. The application enables automatically syncing when near a Mac via Wi-Fi, or can transfer files and documents with a USB cable

The Missing Sync for Palm Pre supports programs such as Mac OS X Address Book, MS Entourage, and Apple's iCal, iTunes and iPhoto software; it allows users to view PDF, Word, Excel and PowerPoint documents. Additionally, the mobile device can send and receive Podcasts and ringtones to and from the Mac, and will soon support transferring Safari bookmarks to the Fliq Bookmarks app.

The application works with Palm Synergy to provide a single list of contacts from Address Book that can be viewed together on both the Mac and Pre, and includes links to contacts from Google and Facebook accounts. Lastly, when transferring videos to the Palm Pre, the program automatically reformats the files to the optimum resolution for a mobile device.

Priced at $40 for the Personal Edition or $90 for the Business Edition, The Missing Sync for Palm Pre is compatible with Mac OS X 10.5.6 or higher and iTunes 7.4 or later. Current owners of any Mark/Space product can cross-grade to the new program for $30.
