In Brief: seyDoggy has released Lights2 Pro RapidWeaver, a revamped successor to its Lights theme, while KeyNote Zone now offers a free version of its Comics theme for Keynote. A new Native Instruments promotion, "Tone Up For Summer," brings discounts of up to 50-percent for the company's Guitar Rig 3 products. The Pragmatic Programmers has launched a video tutorial for developers planning on using the Map Kit framework in iPhone apps. Meanwhile, Morrison SoftDesign has changed its name to FontGear to better reflect the focus of its font utilities.

seyDoggy has released Lights2 Pro, a revamped successor to its Lights theme for RapidWeaver. The update offers 10 customizable headers, header height adjustment, RWmultitool support, color or width controls, and sidebar width and positioning adjustments. Customers can purchase Lights2 Pro for $17 CAD (~$14 USD).

Native Instruments has launched the "Tone Up For Summer" promotion for Guitar Rig 3, enabling customers to purchase the digital guitar studio for discounts of up to 50-percent. The deal is good through August 31st, with the Guitar Rig 3 Software Edition price brought down to $170. The Kontrol Edition, which includes a foot controller/audio interface, can be purchased for $450.

The Pragmatic Programmers have released "Using the Map Kit," a video tutorial providing instructions on how to embed maps in iPhone apps using the latest Map Kit framework available in the iPhone firmware Version 3.0. Subjects include understanding terminology, starting projects from scratch, creating map view delegates, displaying basic maps, highlighting points of interest and setting a map view region, among others. The screencast is available in both QuickTime and iPod/iPhone formats for $5.

Morrison SoftDesign has announced that the company has adopted a new name -- FontGear. The owner, John Morrison, made the change to better reflect what the company's font application tools are designed for. FontGear offers such titles as FontDoctor, FontXChange and FontVista.

Keynote Zone has released Comics, a free theme designed for Apple's Keynote application. Each of the 22 layouts are based on hand-drawn picture frames and word balloon shapes, imitating the typical comic style. The free version is available with 800x600 or 1024x768 resolution, while the HD version costs $10 and adds 1280x720, 1680x1050 and 1920x1080 options.
