SIRIUS XM iPhone App
The SIRIUS XM iPhone application has been downloaded by more than 1 million users since its release on June 18th. The title quickly became the top free app in the music category during its brief two-week stint on the App Store. The free app delivers sports, comedy, commercial-free music, and talk radio channels to an iPhone or iPod touch.
SIRIUS XM requires a Premium Online subscription, enabling access to exclusive radio channels from SIRIUS XM's satellite radio service such as Oprah Radio, MLB Home Plate, Martha Stewart Living Radio, and Blue Collar Comedy Radio, among others. Streaming content also includes Internet-only channels such as Bootlegs, Talk Showcase, Music Showcase and Comedy Showcase.
The SIRIUS XM application requires at least a $13 subscription to the Sirius or XM services, while existing satellite-only customers can add the streaming option for $3 per month.

rip-off ...
for existing subscribers. I'm certainly not paying extra for accessing content that I'm already paying for.
Satellite radio needs competition or we're going to see more advertisements on channels that should be ad-free. And what's with the dee-jays on channels like Classic Vinyl? I've already asked Sirius to can the talk and just play music. Cable TV music channels don't have any talking; neither should paid Satellite radio (except on those channels devoted to talk-radio).
