Smart Surfing for Mac 1.5
Trend Micro has announced the beta release of Smart Surfing for Mac 1.5, a new version of its identity and data protection software for Mac OS X. The new beta is designed to help test the updated software, while enabling the company to make improvements based on feedback given by users. Trend Micro is offering beta participants a chance to win prizes including an 8GB iPod nano or iPod shuffle, while the first 200 users receive a free one-year license.
Smart Surfing for Mac helps protect against viruses, worms, Trojans, spyware and other malicious software. Users can also block e-mail links that could lead to harmful websites and prevent unknown websites from installing software. Parents have the ability to set Internet restrictions for their kids, with options to block specific websites or instant messages.
Smart Surf for Mac is compatible with Mac OS X 10.4.11 or later and is priced at $70 for new users. Access to the beta version can be obtained through Zoomerang.com.
