Facebook iPhone app
Facebook is preparing an update to its popular iPhone app, with several features designed to take advantage of the latest firmware, according to Inside Facebook. Facebook 3.0 integrates a new menu selection for news feeds, along with a section for organizing events or sending RSVPs. Users can create new photo albums, view profile picture albums or upload content, while image viewing supports zoom.
The app also provides a menu item that links directly to Pages, while users can add their favorite profiles to the home screen. Photo tagging and notifications have been improved, as well as the message input which now retains the text even if the app is closed or a call is taken. Users will be able to call or text people directly from the app interface.
"I can't predict an exact date when I will submit to Apple, but I can say that I am about 98% done," says Joe Hewitt, lead engineer for the iPhone project. Facebook 3.0 will not support push notification at first, but the function should be added to the Version 3.1 update.

Push
Honestly I'm glad they're doing new stuff but I think the biggest thing users want is Push notifications. Worst case I can view the site, but I'm sooo sick of having my in box filled with txts telling me that people have done or said stuff that I only might care about.
